Finding KMA Files
Sherri
In the BUILD SONG DATABASE Menu, are you telling Hoster to look for KMA files where it says SONG SOURCE FOLDERS or are you at the bottom of the Menu where it says SONG DATABASE DESTINATION FOLDER?
Also, have you moved/copied all your KMA files to the EXTERNAL DRIVE and, are you going to use the EXTERNAL DRIVE exclusively?
Two things:
1. Hoster may have several SONG SOURCE FOLDERS...meaning, you could still use the C: drive for your current KMA files which will have a PATH like this C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Imported Songs (assuming you installed HOSTER in the DEFAULT directory) and, simply ADD another FOLDER that has a PATH to your EXTERNAL HD, KMA Files, that could look like this D:\Imported Songs.
This, of course, all depends on where you saved your KMA FILES on the new EXTERNAL HD and the DRIVE LETTER Designation of your EXTERNAL HD (I used D: for this example and refers to your EXTERNAL HD).
You MUST place your KMA files in a FOLDER. As far as I can tell, you cannot designate just D: as a source of your KMA FILES. The ADD SONG FOLDER only lets you input a source FOLDER.
So, if you copied all your KMA FILES to D:, make another FOLDER on the D: Drive and name it Imported Songs, or what ever you want, as long as it's a FOLDER, then, copy/move all the KMA FILES to that FOLDER. Now, you will be able to ADD a new SONG SOURCE FOLDER that points to your EXTERNAL HD.
2. Only use one (1) SONG SOURCE FOLDER for all your KMA FILES that will be located on your EXTERNAL DRIVE. You could, just, copy all KMA FILES to the D:\Imported Songs (if D: is the Drive Letter Designation of your EXTERNAL DRIVE). In this case, in the SONG SOURCE FOLDERS, you would click on SELECT FOLDER and navigate to your EXTERNAL HD designated letter and then CLICK on the Imported Songs FOLDER (or whatever NAME of the FOLDER you decided to use) and CLICK on SELECT. This will transfer the PATH to the SONG SOURCE FOLDERS window.
You can DELETE the SONG SOURCE FOLDER, that is no longer needed, by CLICKING on the PATH to HIGHLIGHT it, and, then, CLICK on DELETE FOLDER.
Once you have your KMA FILES situated in a FOLDER, of your choice (I would suggest naming the FOLDER Imported Songs to be uniform), and, once you have the SONG SOURCE FOLDERS corrected to point to the KMA FILES on your EXTERNAL HD, then, Rebuild the Database to finish.
NOTE:
Since you are running out of room on your C: Drive, you will, probably, want to change the SAVE TO FOLDER under the IMPORT TRACK window for future IMPORTS so that future IMPORTED TRACKS will be saved to the correct FOLDER on the EXTERNAL HD.
Hope this helps,
Norm
