Angry Sound Canvas

I have been using Sound Canvas on two computers, one with Windows ME and one with Windows XP. However, recently, the computer with the XP has run into problems. My AOL wouldn't start, the microphone would not work, and the sound recording is not working with both the recorder on the computer as well as Sound Forge (would not record incoming sound). Of course, Sound Forge would not work either. When I tried to reinstall Sound Canvas, it gave me an error message saying that it could not copy VSC32.dat. Could this be because of Sound Canvas? I see that the manual did not list XP as a supporting operating system. However, the program was working for a while. Now when I tried to install the software on my laptop with Windows XP, I received a warning about installing the program. I don't remembering seeing that when I installed it on the desktop. The computer with Windows ME is working fine. Anyone can shed some light on this?
