I have a couple of usb 2.0 80 gig hard drives I back up to so restoreing wasnt bad, but I dont use defrag like i used to anymore. it isnt bulletproof. I used xp's internal defrag. I am afraid of nortons also I have seen problems with it in the past. I guess I think the safest thing to do is defrag, then copy from the BACKUP to the freshly defragged hard drive. that seems to keep the files contingous.
