Check your original discs, I have found a few of my discs that have scratches will not import properly and will cause video problems exactly like you describe. If your originals play with random dots/missing letters, scrambled graphics, etc, replace the disc and reimport, otherwise use a different version of the song.
Perhaps it is a different problem you are having, but I too had problems which followed to all subsequent songs (until I restarted Hoster)
Also BTW, you don't have to add the songs to your playlist again once you restart hoster, just load the playlist from your harddrive, it automatically saves a copy everytime you make any changes...
