CDA Files are what you will see when you look at any Audio or Karaoke CD in your computer. This is how Windows shows it. It will also show that the file size is 1kb, this is because this .cda file is basically the same thing as a Shortcut on your desktop. This shortcut though goes deeper into the disc to tell whatever program you are using to play this disc where the Audio actually is.

What you need is another program that can rip the audio off of the CD as a .wav file or a .cdg file. If you are using Karaoke discs then you will need the Microstudio program. If you are just dealing with Audio discs then you could use a program called Winamp, Musicmatch or Windows Media player to do this.
