Superimpose Switch
The superimpose switch is located on the back of the unit, between the video input/outputs and the AC power cord. It is clearly marked "SUPERIMPOSE".
You can tell your friend that if it is already in the "ON" position, then switching it to "OFF" won't have any effect with the operation of the player.
