Question DMA

Carl,

If I was you I would disable the DMA on both the hard drive and the cd-rom.
The fact that you've change to Windows XP, you now have the DMA enable by default wich wasn't the case with 98.

Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, Primary & Secondary IDE Channel, Advance Settings, Transfer Mode.

Now change to PIO Only.

That is the solution for the broken letters and sticky letters for the Yamaha burners.
Who knows it might help you?

If it doesn't work just enable the DMA again

Good Luck
