Make sure you have the TV hooked up properly before starting your comptuer. Otherwise the card will not see the "dual display" and set it for single display. If you are still having problems, right click on the desktop, then "Properties" There should be a settings tab under in the display properties window. Click this and see if the dual display is active. (Click the '2' display and see if the box "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." is checked.)
How do you have the TV hooked up to the laptop?
Not exactly sure how the MTU laptop is, but it should be similar if not same as above.
If the above is ok, give us some more info on how you have it hooked up etc... and maybe someone can help better.
