Numbers always list first before letters in alpha sorting.
Regards the "I" it may be you have a space character before the "I" " I" if you highlight one then look in the box where you edit the artist see if there is a space there and delete it then save and it should then list correct the next time you sort. Or are you mistaking an "I" for a "1"
