In the screen resolution it only shows 1 extended monitor, if you connected correct that will be the hdmi spitter showing as the extended monitor, it doesn't matter how many extra connections you make from the hdmi box it will only show the one.

I connect laptop HDMI out to Splitter input. the splitter box has to be powered with it's own 5v power lead.

Then take 1 HDMI out to your first monitor, then connect another HDMI lead from the splitter to the AV converter which should also have a usb connection for power although it will usually work without this usb connection. Then from the yellow video out of the AV converter connect to the AV in of the other monitor.
