Ok, never mind, I got it to work. The laptop is used to import the easier CD's and the desktop is busy importing the difficult ones. I sure will be glad when it is all done importing. I have spent a lot of time importing it. Soon as I get them imported, I believe I will burn the files to DVD as backup, just in case (don't wanna go thru this again, whew!). All I need to do as long as I pay attention to the bookID, is periodically rebuild the songs database on the laptop. The clue was in the manual, how the database works. The data is saved in the same location, but the headers on the imported files need to be updated, thus the reason for rebuild, not only does it rebuild the database, it also writes a header to the .kma files. I checked without rebuilding, and it would save the files, but when you try to play them back, you get an error. Rebuilding the songs database allows you to play the files afterward.
