Keypad clicks transmited to audio out

Problem solved but Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else has had this problem.

I don't use a mouse, I use my laptop keypad as my input device and recently noticed the sound of me using the left & right click on it was transferring to my audio out jack (Headphone socket) I was also getting a lot of background noise, further examining the problem I found just tapping anywhere on my computer would transfer the sound through the headphone jack.
I then disabled all other sound devices like Microphone, line in, Stereo mix, HDMI audio, and digital out but still I was hearing the sound.

I noticed that if I put a dummy plug into the microphone socket the noises stopped immediately.
Any way I eventually found it was a setting in the Microphone properties under levels. I had the microphone boost setting at +20db and the funny thing was even with it disabled I was still hearing the excess background noise and the keyboard taps. I reset this to 0.0 db and the problem stopped, either that or it is no longer noticeable.

I'm wondering if it could be a fault with the headphone jack not disengaging the input when nothing is plugged into it because when I stick a dummy plug in it that also stops it.

Or has anyone else got any ideas ?
