While playing a cdg and you wish to abort the track, tap the spacebar or the esc key. It's all covered in the manual in the Play Tab section.
You can also play regular cd's in Microstudio the same as a cdg except the monitor goes to blank screen, as there are no graphics, but everything else works the same as playing a cdg.
