When you say "Now sometimes when I cold boot my computer and load Hoster and try to play a playlist, I get all error messages in the left column where usually it says ready"
Does it still happen if you let your computer stand idle for a short while before starting Hoster ?
For instance if you open my computer and view the drives there straight after booting does the E drive sometimes take a while to appear. If that is the case it is something to do with your drive or it's connections, the drive has to be completely loaded before starting Hoster or this could happen.
