A few shots in the dark with this one.....
First, try wiggling the cable running from the headphone jack on your computer to the sound board to ensure you don't have a bad cable or headphone jack while a song is playing to see if you can duplicate the symptom. If you duplicate the symptom, replace the cable and try again. If you duplicate again, it is most likely the headphone jack. If you determine that the cable and headphone jack are ok keep going with the below.
Is your Dell still under warranty? If so you may want to contact Dell so they can talk you through a hardware check to ensure all the chips, power supply, and battery are functioning properly. (since these issues, I think you mentioned in another post, started with Hoster 5.08)
If not...
Assuming that all updates have been accomplished and your system registry has no issues.
The Buzz and the subsequent out of sync makes me think there is a hardware issue.
Usually when I hear a buzz in my pa system it is caused by 1 of 2 things, a faulty ground (bad cable between the computer and sound board to the headphone jack on the computer itself) or a computer power supply doesn't have an in-line magnet. The out of sync issue may be caused by a cpu interrupt of sorts.
With that being said, I suspect your power supply may be the culprit. If it is not functioning properly you could be operating intermittently on battery power (power supply arching inside causing the buzz and shutting down momentarily) and I'm thinking Hoster is sensitive to that when it wants to run on "Full" power (power supply connected). I would suggest trying another power supply (borrow one if you can, assuming you don't have another laying around) and give that a try. If that does not fix the issue, my next guess would be the battery.
One more thing if all the above checks ok,
Since you are connected to a sound board there could be something going on such as a back feed or internal short or something. My particular sound board had to go back to the factory to replace the internal power supply which was causing various issues with all my channels (hums, hissssses, and just plain not working).
Hope something from the above resolves your issue.
