Gday ..... Problem sorted !!!!!! It was a dodgy DVI to VGA converter started looking at hardware after system restore did not solve the issue ... thanks for all your input
.... Was considering upgrading to the latest version but its a Windows XP pro so decided against it ...anyways it's ok now
