The default folder for the def001.hst file is in the C\MTU\Hoster folder, so when you select File/open the drop down window for folder would have to be showing Hoster. If you are in the correct folder and still can't see any defoo1.hst she may have altered this default folder at some time.

If it is in the Hoster folder but not showing, then from the File menu choose save, this should overwrite or create the .hst file to open correct next time.

If when you choose open it is not in the default folder try this: Once you have Hoster running, from the file menu Select "Save As" not save, then in the "Save In" window browse to the Hoster folder and select it, then in the File name window if it is empty enter def001 then save. Now close Hoster and re-open and see if you are still getting the error.
