I need to import files and use build database (little confused about whether or when to use index).
If you have version 5.06, from Import songs/Index HD Files dialog once you import them they will be indexed in the database. No need to rebuild the database that's only if you lose some data or something goes wrong.

Yes, The only field you won't be able to edit after it's imported is the Disc ID.

If you import the files as kma from any type the maximum ratio you can set them to is 192k. If you import them as mp3+g or zips as kmh they will remain at the quality of the originals. When you import kma types the little window for setting the ratio becomes active. With kmh files it uses the original file but just adds a small header file of the same name as the original file and has to remain in the same folder as the original. So if you converted your bin files to mp3+g you could use a ratio of 320k, they would then be a better quality than if you imported them as kma.

Not to my knowledge, they are actually cda files on a standard cdg+g disc, when you open the import cd tracks it will only search a cd drive and there is no selection choice for cda from the import hd files dialog.

You should have used a nickname multipoint lol

Thanks
