First it will depend on what version you have and if you have a copy of the installation file. Anything less than version 4.16 will not work on Windows 7. If you have any older version then yes you will need to upgrade and it will cost you an upgrade fee which is less than the original cost.
Second be sure you do the changes in the following link to your Windows 7 computer before you install it.

Be sure you uninstall from the original computer while on line as Beavis said.
