I see what you're trying to do now. Have you looked into wireless audio/video senders? I have tried them for that same reason. They work pretty good, as long as you don't have a wireless router for multiple computers in your house turned on at the same time. It will cause interference. That is my problem, because both my husband & I have computers in opposite sides of the house. I do know someone who ran video "wirelessly" at his Karaoke Show. There was only periodic interferece, so it might work for you.

To do it remotely, I would search Microsoft to see how to set that up in Win7. The only other way would be to get wires that are long enough to reach from your laptop to your equipment on the other side of the room.
