As long as you have a slot for the video card and I believe those do, then you can install a separate internal card and turn off the integrated card. I have done that for all Dell desktops I own.

Doug, i wish they had a slot for a graphic cards, but these optiplex sx280 don't have one....i'm sorry if i put in the wrong link..it's Trittonusa.com..i had 4 of these..i did rebuilt 3 of them..and i have another one to do..if you can..i need your advice on this one..it's a small form factor case..and i would be or i am trying to get a motherboard that will fit on this..if you can look at the epecs on this and maybe suggest a good motherboard that won't break the bank.
