That wasn't stated in the OP.
A VGA with one output will only display what is coming off of that output, no dual or extended capability.
Best thing to do on a PC is just buy a cheap internal card, they are not hard to install at all and most are self installing. I got a 1GB memory ATI Radeon card from Tigerdirect for $50.
