If it isn't adjustable on the fly it wouldn't be very useable IMO. I don't get people asking me to adjust the speed before they start a song, it's during a song they ask - hey can you speed this up (slow it down) for me. In all honesty I don't get a whole lot of tempo change requests at all, but have on occasion since 92, maybe 10 times I can remember off hand.
