Dale, the Microstudio is 4.006A; there are both .cdg and .mp3 files together. I checked a few songs and seam like the average size of the .cdg files are around 1.5kb and the .mp3 files are around 3.3kb.
So now the question is how on earth do I get them to convert so I can use them for my shows???
Keep in mind I am super green.. I can turn the thing on and off really good.. lol
Admin.. I don't plan on jumping ship I just know that the files work seamless on the other one.. with Dale's help we'll be just fine.
Dale, thank you in advance.

Carl, Dale gave some excellent steps, but he ignored the EASY way to import.
1. I assume your song files (.mp3+.cdg pairs) already exist in a folder on the hard drive in your computer, or an attached USB external drive. That's all you need to continue. Where this folder exists doesn't matter to Hoster.
2. Run Hoster. Click the "
Import Songs menu at the top, and click the "
Import Hard Drive Files" command.
3. Click the
MP3G button. This displays the "Choose folder" dialog. Locate the folder where your MP3+CDG file pairs are stored and click the "Select" button. This folder should be open and its .mp3 files shown in the "File List Window".
4.
Now, you need to look at your song filenames and make a decision.
IF ALL your mp3 + cdg file pairs DO NOT use the same format, then we recommend you click the
EASY button. This takes the first 64 characters in each .mp3 filename and adds them into the
Title field, adding "unknown" into the other fields. It doesn't get any easier than this. Later, if you want to, the Tools menu > Edit Songs command allows you to edit each file and fill in the other fields. You might only want to edit the songs your singers request, which users say is typically less than 500.
IF ALL your mp3 + cdg file pairs DO use the same format (ex: DiscID-Trk# - Artist_-_Title.mp3), then you should click the
Advanced button. This shows the "Define field order" fields where you can select the fields in their order and the delimiters between them. As Hoster imports each song, it locates (parses) the fields from the filename and fills in the associated fields for each song you are importing. This makes it easier to find a song by any means a singer gives you.
Once your songs are imported, you are ready to play! Importing MP3G songs uses our new KMH format, which only indexes the files by creating a .kmh file that holds the information fields you identify (and what you edit with Edit Songs). Hoster processes at about 6 .mp3+.cdg file pairs per second. If you have 30,000 pairs, it will take about 1.5 hours.
