Building a Hoster PC - Please help

Hi to all!
I do have Hoster for about 6 years collecting songs but never have the chance to really use it for real.
Now, I do want to build a desktop PC from the sctratch just to have fun with hoster.

May main questions are:
1. Which motherboard should I use? (thinking of MSI or ASUS)

2. What Graphics adapter should I use? Honesty I feel somewhat confident using the nVidia ones.

3. I want to have the preview screen in regular VGA but want to have the singers display both in SVideo and Composite video

Any thoughts?
Many thanks for your help

I have had problems with asus, I generally use the MSI boards. INtel processors are probably the best, altho I used to like the the amd more.

as for grapgics, I have always used and have faith in the nVidia graphics. the 7800's are the best for me.

stay with windows xp......... Vista is mega problems.

the ones i do are spec'ed as follows:
  • Apex TM-302 enclosure
  • MSI K9MM-V motherboard (microATX form factor, socket AM2)
  • AMD Sempron LE-1100 cpu
  • 1gb of either Samsung or Kingston 800mhz DDR2
  • ATI Radeon display adapter (i've been using the 7000 series, but any of the older ones from 7000 into the 9xxx series appear to do well in this application. make sure you use the reference drivers from ATI, not the ones that come on cd with the part)
  • Windows XP Pro
  • 500gb USB external storage
  • Plextor PX-504a dvd-rw drive (either internal or mounted in an external enclosure, per the client's preference)
i like the idea of more compact microATX enclosures, but the problem of getting a display adapter that will fit in a 3.6-3.8" tall case has been a persistent one. so going forward i intend to use the microATX mini-tower i referred to above.
