KHPro Playback
Hi, recently purchased KHPro and Microstudio. Recorded music through Microstudio (wav file), typed text through notepad, but when trying to play the song to do lyric sweep, music repeats about every 2 seconds. when I play music in window media player, song is fine. I have Creative Sound Blaster Platinum, Windows XP Professional. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to play it in Microstudio or Karaoke Home Producer?
I've nevr been able to make Home producer work but Microstudio will work as long as you write the file as a CDG before closing out Home producer. You can always go back and redo it if you didn't get it right. But at least you don't have to burn it to see if it works. This alone makes Microstudio a must If you get Home Producer. Yes You can burn the file with another cdg writing software but so far I have only seen one CDG playing sofftware able to play Home Producer Made CDG files. The others require it being accompanied by a separate MP3 file. |
Karen,
Have you installed DirectX 8.0? If not then you can do it from: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=772 |
Khpro playback
I hope i signed in correctly to respond to admin. I have DirectX8.1. Is this the problem? Do I specifically need DirectX8.0?

I have Direct X 8.0 the diagnostics say it's working yet I have yet to be able to get playback to work for me inside Karaoke Home Producer, all I get is the lyrics are behind the Audio.
That is the main reason I bought Micrstudio. Everything works the way it is supposed to for me with microstudio. And you still have to replace the lyrics from the start if you don't get it right the first time. That is why I actually start Microstudio first ansd enter Home Producer from there as Microstudio has tabs that correspond to the other MTU ptoducts that work with Karaoke song making. |
Try this to fix any playback problems in Karaoke Home Producer.
1) Right click anywhere on the desktop where there is no icon. 2) Left click on Properties 3) The display Properties page should open, Left click on Settings. 4) On the left hand side you will see an option that says Colors, make sure this is set to "High Color (16 BIT). If it is set to 24 bit, 32 bit or 256 colors the graphics will be out of sync with the Audio. |
Same Issue
I believe I am having the same problem. I just installed KHPro yesterday. I don't have any problems with the .wav file and Windows Media Player plays back the cdg (of course, as if it were a cda) without a hitch. But after I add the lyrics, time the transitions and save as cdg i am unable to play it back. I can't play it back in MicroStudio or from a burned CD. It brings up the title screen I created but it continuously skips and repeats the first couple bars of music.
I have WindowsXP, Pentium III 450MHz PC with 128MB RAM. Plenty of hard drive space. |
Sorry, forgt to inform about followup. Problem is in regards to the sound card which I have, Sound Board Audigy Platinum. For some reasons its causing problems not only in KHPro, but Microstudio as well. By uninstalling the programs associated with the Platinum, and keeping I think just the drivers (see Microstudio skipping thread, although mine I believe is from Windows XP), it is working at minimum. Problem only arises in that I cannot import music from let say tapes or phono.
When I uninstalled sound card programs which includes mixers (which I think is conflicting with Microstudio), program at least works, which is one positive outcome. |
Problem with lyrics behind the audio in XP
We have discovered a bug in KHPro 2.009 that causes this delay only in XP.
Good news is the bug is fixed in 3.00x that we are now beta testing. We hope to get it out soon... target is April 15. :) |
I had the same problem. After several hours of trial and error, I discovered that when I replaced my Sound Blaster Audigy card with an SBLive card this problem disappeared.
|
I have solved the Audigy card problem. Change the settings in Control Panel. On the advanced menu there is a slider bar for hardware acceleration - decrease this to about one notch above none and your sound should not skip anymore.
If that doesn't work, check your BIOS settings and make sure all audio options are set to enabled except for on-board audio. Good luck! Kim :) |
