vista question
My back up computer is vista. I have the UAC disabled, and i am running 3320.My kma files are on an external hard drive. Are my playlists, and kma's safe?
If i upgrade to 3321, would it be safe to re-activate the UAC after installing 3321 , or would it be best to just leave it disabled? Paul |
I don't know how safe your kma files are with 3.320 on vista.
there has been a lot of trouble with that. i would feel safer with 3.321. you can turn UAC back on. Bob:) |
Thanks, Bob. I just don't know if i have enough computer savy to install 3321 on my vista. I had 3321 on my primary xp computer, but went back to 3320 because of the playlist issue with 3321,and not knowing exactly how to move my playlist files from were 3320 stored them to wwere 3321 stores them.

As long as your playlists and your KMAs are not under the Program Files area or the Documents and Settings area previously used (3.318 - 3.320) then you should be ok to upgrade to 3.321 and turn on the UAC.
The location for your playlists (the database files will be there too) is C:\MTU\Hoster. Your KMAs being on the external drive is good too. |
and make sure you always have a backup of your kma files.
get another external hd and copy them to it, very, very important to have a backup. |
Thanks guys, I currently have three back up external hard drives.with all 68,000 kma files on them. It's taken me over two years to accumulate them.
Thanks again, and i hope y'all don't get tired of me asking what you pro's probly think are dumb questions, but i had rather ask before i leap. Paul |

Then go to C:\MTU\Hoster, right click in the right side screen and click on "Paste". You have just copied them where they need to be. You can then go back to the first folder highlight them again and delete them from there. |
