What programs can I get rid of.

When hosting and doing DJ gigs, I don't use a lot of the standard trash they put on a PC.

Does anyone have a list of what can be removed from a Hoster PC and still do music and karaoke?

I know I don't need things like paint, windows calender, ect. Just like to be rid of the excess baggage and speed things up while making more room for important things like music.

I don't think getting rid of any of those will speed things up at all unless they are loaded at startup. Where you need to look for stuff to disable you want to go to start/run/msconfig and look at the checked items under the startup and the services tab. some things are obvious junk that can be unchecked and others are cryptic enough it's hard to know if it's important or not. I've got a link to a site where you can lookup many of the items to see what they do and if it's something you can get rid of (I'll try to find and post it). I would go slow with items you might be guessing at to make it easier to turn them back on if necessary.
When you reboot you'll get a dialog box telling you that some changes have been made and giving you the option of changing them back. You want to click the box that says "don't show this message again", or it'll pop up each time you reboot.
I've got a lot of things under services that I've left alone because I'm not sure if they are important. It would be nice if there was a list as such.

Also go through and do the trouble shooting tips in the Hoster manual, that can speed things up as well.

Try here for the start up executables listings. The page is searchable using CTRL F. Plus it gives you a brief description and if it is needed or not.

Like Sam said go slow though. And make sure you are spelling the items correctly. There are many spy/mal wares out there who disguise themselves by looking like needed programs.

Thanks guys. Looks like a good place to start. Speeding things up, I know it won't do much but when you are carrying a small laptop with 160 and 250GB hard drives, having such things as 400 mouse pointers does take a little room. Generally, the first thing I do is do a global seach for sample files, and get rid of the sample music, videos, ect. I won't ever hook up a printer to my laptops, so most things like Microsoft Office 2007 is a little bit much. I want to use the space, not give it up to something I never use during a show.
