Help Loading KHPro2009
Ok I'm new at this so lets try it again.
My system is made by Union Friendly Systems Inc. 773 mhz Pentium III processor 128 meg RAM Windows ME 30 gigabyte hard drive When I run khpro2009.exe I get the authorization screen. I enter my e-mail address and serial Number click next. Then I get setup complete screen and I click finish. The screen closes and the program isn't installed. The second digit is 0 and I tried O that didn't do it. Could some of the 1s be Is or ls? Thanks! |
Dennis,
You must make sure that your Email is the exact same case and everything as we typed it on the email above your Serial number. The 0's are the number Zero and any 1's are the number one. The letters that are in the serial number must be typed in as Capital letters. Let me know if this works. |

Bryan; Thanks! That did the trick. Now however I have another problem.Hardware I think. After tapping a song i go to plaay it back and the first lines highlight on cue the the last line cues real slow then the first part of the first line on the next screen cues slow. Then the middle lines cue like there supposed to but they are now too far behind the music. Then the slow and proper cycle continues. This happens if I have three, four or five lines on the screen. My system is made by Union Friendly Systems Inc. 773 mhz Pentium III processor 128 meg RAM Windows ME 30 gigabyte hard drive The video is built into the motherboard. It is an Intel(r) 82810E graphics controller made by Intel Corp. Features Direct Draw 1.00 Software Version 4.0 I have tried changing the resolution and the accelerator settings. Any suggestions? Thanks again! Dennis |
Dennis,
The problem is that your computer has a built in 810 Graphics card, this will only have 4-7.5mb of video memory, thus the reason you can't get it to work. Karaoke Home Producer requires at least 8mb of Video Memory. I would recommend replacing your Video card with an ATI brand Card with at least 8mb or more of memory. |
Even with the new Video card you may not get it to work inside Home Producer. I have Home Producer and I have the required
8 MBs of ram assigned to it and still have that same problem with Home Producer. I have double checked and triple checked which version of Direct X I am running and it says 8.0 every time. I have since decided that combining the CD+G creating capabilities of Home Producer with the Playability and CD writing ability of Microstudio that I've got a winning combination. What benifits Microstudio brings you far outweighs it's cost, which really isn't that much to begin with. Just my 2 cents on the subject. |
Thanks for the reply.
According to the papers that I ordered my computer from I'm supposed to have 11 megs of video memory. When I search for video memory I can only find two. I e-mailed their contact and am waiting for an answer. Thanks again, Dennis P.S. If anyone is going to be out near Lake Havisu next weekend, Feb. 16, there is going to be a great firework display. |
Also important to remember that KHP needs to have p.c. color resolution set at 16bit high color to avoid sweeping problems.

George;
Thanks but I have tried all resolution settings and speeds(?) that my computer is capable of. I think I don't have enough video memory and the manufacturer, Union Friendly Computers, isn't responding to any of e-mails. Dennis |

I tossed that bit in more for the future than anything to keep you from putting in a new video card and encountering sweep problems. If you do go to a new video card, the ATI Rage 128 Xpert 2000 works just great, and has 32 mg. memory(these programs are just going to get bigger). When installed remember to go to their website and download latest drivers. It seems that the drivers on the packaged software are not always the latest, which is understandable. I guess it would be too good to be true to think that might solve your present problem, but I'd try it, what's to lose? Take care, George |
OK!
But the computer is still under warranty unless I open the case. And I paid for a computer with 11 megabytes of video and if they can't give it to me they can take thier computer back. Would you keep a car that all the paperwork said had a V-8 engine and after you tried to pull your travel trailer found out that it only had a six cylinder in it? I'm just going to chill until I get an answer from Union Friendly. Dennis |
Gotcha.. Keep us posted.
Take care, George |
Dennis, is this onboard video or a video card.
If it is onboard you should be able to tell by how much ram your computer tells you it has available to you through your system properties. Go to start. then go to settings. click on control panel. In the window that opens up- look for system. click that icon and the next thing you;'ll see will tell you a: what windows you are running b: how much ram you have available. subtract that from the amount of ram you are suppose to have in your computer and that is how much Video Ram you have. I.E.: My system has 196 MB of Ram installed. 3 chips of 64 mb ram I just did that to make sure I was telling you the accurate instructions. Mind you i am running Win 98SE so yours may operate differantly to find the control panel. You can access the control panel through my computer as well. My system properties says I have 184 mbs of ram while when I boot the number says 196 mb of ram I subtract 184 from 196 to get the amount of ram my onboard video takes up which is 8 MB. Admin or MTUSupoort can correct me if I got it wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm right. |
Danny_g;
Thanks, I did that and I came up with just a little over two megabytes. Any ideas on how to change that? |
Well it's another day that I haven't heard anything from Union Friendly.
Just htought I'd let you know who I wouldn't buy another computer from. Dennis |
Did you buy with a credit card?
Dennis,
If you used a CCard, you have 60 days to file a formal complaint with your card company. If your 60 days are not up yet, don't wait for the time to run out. Check Union Friendly's web site for any policies you should know first. |
Thanks again;
You have been more help than UNion Friendly Systems. It has been more than 60 days though. However they didn't send me what I paid for and I have two years to take them to small claims court if we can't reach an agreement. Dennis |
