merging kma files

I will be installing hoster 3319 on a back up Computer (windows XP). I have appox 61,000 kma songs on an exteral hard drive that i use with my primary computer (also an XP with hoster 3319 installed). Can someone give me an easy step by step way to merge or install these songs thru the new, fresh 3319 so that i can use the same external hard drive on either computer?
After installing 3319 on my back up computer, will it as me to rebuild song data base since i will not have any songs on that hoster at that time?
Please make it as simple as possible, as i am not a computer wheez.
Thank you
Paul Selph

Are you going to copy the kma files to the new computer or use the same external drive for both computers?

i am going to use the same external hard drive for both computers, but not at the same time.

if youre gonna use one ext. drive you dont have to merge your files, just make sure to plug in the drive before powering up your pc, and i think you need to update your songdata base, and change the path of the files to whatever the drive letter is on your pc's ( both ) if i'm wrong , i stand corrected

Billyo, I guess the question i have is this.
I will be installing hoster 3319 on what will be my back up computer(windows XP). How do i get hoster to recognize the kma files that have never been connected to this computer before.Let me list the steps that i know how to do.
1. down load hoster 3319 on back up computer. note: will i be asked to rebuild song data base, since i wouldn't have any song in at that time?

Question #1. After connecting external hard drive would i run a merge files.

In this case you do not need to merge the database but just rebuild it after adding the correct path to the external.
If you connect the external before you install the program then when it wants to build the database after installation, enter the correct path to the external drive folder where the KMA files are. Then you won't have to even rebuild.

Dale, would the correct path be what ever the external hard drive letter is?

You would be better off to create a folder on the external and store your KMA files there. The path would be drive letter:\folder name

Thank you very much. I will try this, sounds like it would work.
