I would try two things first. Do your Windows Custom updates again to make sure Microsoft hasn't added anything new. And make sure you have the latest firmware update for your CD drive.
If that doesn't help try defragging your drives and last turn-off anything you don't need running during a show.

:f Hi There,
I have done all of these things and it did not help, I not sure what to do next.

I had this problem in the past and the firmware upgrade for my CD drive corrected the issue. I would double check to be sure you have the latest version of firmware. Also, you mentioned that you did "a couple" of restores. If the first restore did not help did you revert back to the state you were in and then try to restore to an earlier time? How far back did you have to go to get back to an operational state? It's possible that you have undone your Hoster upgrade. If it were me I would follow Dale's advice and go through each step, firmware upgrade, Microsoft updates, Hoster upgrade and verify that your system is where you think it is. Then if you still have the problem you can rule out those issues.

you have to find out the brand of your cd/dvd drive, and go to their site
if not see if updating you cd/dvd drive works to do this:

go to
1. my computer
2. click on view syst. info
3.click on hardware tab
4. click on device mgr.
5. click on the plus sign ( + ) of the cd/dvd drive
6. righ click on the cd/ dvd drive
7. click on properties
8. click on driver tab
9. click on " update driver "
10. click on " install from the list or specifics then click next..

hope this helps...

Look at Tools/Default Drive in Hoster and that will tell you what make and model drive you have. The number after the drive will be the firmware version currently installed.
With this information find the manufacturer's web site and look for firmware downloads to compare with what you have. If they have a higher number (newer version) available download it and install it (according to their instructions).

We aren't talking about the drivers. Firmware is an installed program in the CD drives own internal flash memory.
What information does Hoster show for your drive? Make? Model? Firmware Version?

scottccook February 9th, 2008 06:43 PM

I am having the same problem. Everthing has been great until I downloaded 3.319. Now when I try to load a song when someone is singing, their song slows down, a lot! I will be going back to 3.317 until this is figured out. I still love hoster, bugs just happen.

Is this a laptop internal drive?

Start the Hoster Setup program for 3.317, then select Remove. It will remove the program without removing your KMA files, playlists, database, etc. Then run the Setup program again and install.

If you originally did your uninstall through Windows "Add or Remove Programs" that is why you lost all your files. The MTU Setup programs are designed to only remove the program files and not your data files where the Windows program removes everything.

Start the Hoster Setup program (the one you downloaded from MTU) for 3.316, then select Remove instead of Update. It will remove the program without removing your KMA files, playlists, database, etc. Then run the Setup program again and install. That is all there is to it.

As far as the drive if you go to the following web page -
http://support.dell.com/support/down...n&catid=&impid=
and select the CD/DVD category, you will find a firmware update for your drive.
There are other updates on this page that you should look at too for that laptop.
