Maybe if you format it and install Windows as an operating system. But it does state Hoster is not for a Mac.

The newer Macbooks can be purchased with Windows XP as a boot/OS option. That's what I was wondering, if anyone had tried it yet.

Hoster on a MacBook Pro

I am in the process of getting Hoster to run on my MacBook Pro. My problem has mainly been trying to import SCDG's (I have to get CDG Fix softare tonight to covert those files into CDG's), and trying to import some Performer's Choice DVD's (not sure that I will be able to convert these, though I could rip them to mp4's). I have successfully imported normal CDG files, but it was a trying journey. I ended up getting a Plextor drive from MTU, but had a lot of problems getting the aspii driver to work (I need that driver as I run XP, which does not include aspii). Of course, I had to get XP service pack 2 in the first place, plus virus and firewall programs (Symatec 360), and deal with the general horror of the Microsoft universe. But there is no good Mac alternative. I tried the demo of KJams (kjams.com), but it does not play video back smoothly. I think Hoster is a much more mature program. I'll let you know how the SCDG conversions go tonight (these files are in a proprietary format used by Nutech).

Keep one thing in mind that you can still only have 99 songs per bookID in Hoster. Several have tried to work with those but it isn't possible yet. The next release is supposed to be fixing this, but no date has been set for that release yet.

Thanks for the info Dale. I don't know Hoster really well yet, but is it not possible to manually set new book ID's every 99 songs that is imported from a Nutech SCDG disk conversion? Any info would be great!

It really is too long an explaination to go into. There have been several forum discussion on this so do a search for them and read.
Version 4.000 is supposed to have the fix to allow greater numbers of tracks per bookid which will allow you to import all of the tracks from those SCDG disks.
