Problem Installing

I downloaded the newest Hoster and Microstudio. When I start installing each of them, each does the same thing. The install wizard comes up and states.. Please ensure that your internet connection is up and running......... It is! Tried each one several times. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ernie

Make sure you have all the updates from Microsoft from the Custom Update. There have been some recent updates for the Installer and for the .Net Framework.
Also, it could have just been that you weren't reaching the MTU server that does the registration. Even if your link is up there are many other links between you and MTU's servers that could have been down at that time. So try again.

Did you get them installed?

Dale is correct. ALL web sites have a limited number of HTTP ports available at any given time.

Large operations such as Google, MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. have MULTIPLE CASCADED servers to increase the number of HTTP ports available at any instant in time.

MTU does not. We have a dedicated server to protect your privacy even more, and insure no other web sites are stealing our HTTP ports or server speed.

When many of you try to hit MTU.com at the same time, a bottleneck can happen. If and when it does, just try again later.

Also, if you have a software (ZoneAlarm, etc.) or hardware firewall, and you haven't given it instructions to allow the MTU registering program to pass through, the firewall WILL block connecting to MTU.com. That is the usual cause for this, albeit Dale is probably right-on about some Windows upgrades being made to the "tools" developers like MTU are forced to use. :m :r :t

Got both installed. I guess it was just a matter of hitting it at the right time. I've never had a problem installing from MTU, so I just assumed it was my computer.

Thanks guy's
Ernie
