Help! Reinstalled Windows XP. Can't re-install Hoster
Aloha!
I got the "our records show it has already been registered on 2 different computers" A few months ago my Dell Inspiron computer died on me. I finally got a Windows XP SP2 re-installation CD and brought it back to life...One big problem I just tried to re-install Hoster and it thinks this is a different computer. I'm somewhat computer savy but mostly on MACs so I may have done something wrong to make it think that this is a different computer. Or maybe when I re-installed windows it's unavoidable and MTU has TO RE-SET THE COUNT??? Is there ANYTHING I can do??? I'm starting to host Karaoke shows again next week!! Additionally I uninstalled Hoster from my desktop years ago. So this is only ONE computer. One more thing...I'm looking to upgrade to the latest and greatest from MTU once I get this going. Is there anything to look out for? I assume once I get this going then it will be easy to upgrade. FYI I e-mailed MTU support last night and I'm waiting for a response..Just hoping there was a trick or maybe I did something wrong that I can fix. -Sean seanokin@aol.com |
did you submit a ticket to support ?
|
Nothing you can do about it. When you re-install Windows it sets a new SID (System ID). Which means that Hoster thinks it is a new machine.
However MTU no longer provides support except by web-email ticket on their Support page. So if you didn't fill one out be sure and do that. Include the email address you ordered Hoster under, the reason you need your registration reset and the computer name it was installed on (if you were up-to-date enough to have added that). |
Thanks!! No I just e-mailed them
and haven't heard back yet...
I will submit the ticket RIGHT NOW!! Thank you for your help! |
I wouldn't expect a response until at least Wednesday. MTU does not work on weekends or holidays and they only have 1 Support person.
