Plextor PX-760A Disappeared

I purchased and installed Hoster 3.318 last night with much success. My wife had visited her uncle that uses it and after playing with it decided that using Microstudios to host party's with was unacceptable anymore. We imported a couple of CDGs just to play with it and I have to admit it is pretty nice. When I got home from work I started it up and it didn't find our Plextor (PX-760A) drive when it started. I have...

Read the documentation.
Looked in the Knowledge base.
Made sure Windows updates has updated.
Rebooted several times.
Ran Microstudios and made sure it still sees the drive and still works (it does)

I have not updated any motherboard drivers, as it was working before and I would like to find out why it quit first. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response but it says "None" in the drive section just like it does when I first start up Hoster, when I installed it last night my Plextor showed up there. Like I said in my first post I was able to import two disks to my hard drive.

Thanks,

What firmware version does Microstudio say your Plextor has? The current version is 1.10.
When you say you made sure Windows Updates has updated how did you make sure? If you haven't done a Custom Update in a while the Auto Update does not update everything, but only updates "critical" items as determined by Microsoft.
What operating system are you using?
What version of Microstudio?

Thanks Dale, you nailed it. I updated the firmware on the drive and it fixed it. I really don't understand why it worked last night and it's didn't today. Heck, I work on PCs for a living, I should have known better. (though I am a Linux server guy)

Your welcome. I too work on computers or did for the last 20 years until I retired in October. Of course it is not something you can walk away from as I have lots of "friends" with computer problems that need my help....for free of course.:g
