Sound went out and song timer stopped.

Last night, about 2-1/2 hours into the show, the sound went silent, and the song countdown timer stopped, but the words kept moving on the screen. Another program was running in the background (Virtual DJ). We stopped the song and tried to play a song with VDJ, and there was no sound there either. Then we closed both programs, and reopened only Hoster, not bringing VDJ back up. Everything was fine for about three songs, and the same occurence happened; 1)sound went silent and 2)song timer stopped, but words kept flashing by. We then shut down hoster, brought it back on, everything was fine for the last hour of the show.

This is on a Shuttle with 2 Gb ram, dual core 2.4, using a usb sound card, XP pro.

Any ideas at all what could cause this?.

I would suspect the USB sound card. Did you check the volume control when this happened? Check the application event log too for any messages about USB connection.

Volume control was okay, everything was working loud and clear up to that point(2-1/2 hours) into the show. What was weird was that the song timer on the playlist screen on hoster stopped moving, but the words were still moving forward on the hoster screen as normal.

Oh, how do I get to the application event log?
