Hoster Shuts Down
 

I hope someone can help me with this. I have an external hard drive and the Plextor 716-A Burner. When I try to burn CDG's using Micro Studio and importing to Hoster, I get the message that reads, "You chose to end the nonresponsive program. Hoster Application. The program is not responding. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous. To see what data error report contains click here. Send Error Report Don't Send." Can someone tell me what this message means? If I click on for the details of the report it is too complicated for me to understand. Is there a way to fix this problem that is simple and not to complex for someone who has just basic knowledge of a computer. The Hoster Program then shuts down and I have to reopen it and try again, but it keeps happening. Could someone write a manuel Hoster for Dummies. I would definately buy it. Thank you. Jeanne

What version Microstudio, Hoster and operating system?
Also, what version of firmware is on your Plextor (find this in the drive listing within Microstudio or Hoster)?
Try doing a Custom update from Windows and load all items listed. Do not use the Express update or depend solely on the Auto update on your computer, because those only install what Microsoft deems as "Critical" and that is not everything. You may have to run it a couple of times to get everything to load.
The second thing to do is go to Plextor website, compare the version of firmware on your drive to the latest download available for your model. If you don't have the latest then download it and install it.

If those together don't fix the problem then you may have a bad drive.

I have windows XP and 4.001 MicroStudio and Hoster 3.316 Version. I'm not sure about the firmware on Plextor I went to tools and for the drive it read PX-716A 1.08.

Microstudio is up to version 4.004 (free update) and Hoster is up to 3.317 (also free) with version 4.000 (not free) soon to be following. I would recommend updating or at least download the updates soon.
You have never said in all your posts whether you have done the Custom Update from Microsoft. There are items in the Custom list that are needed for Hoster and Microstudio to work properly.
Lastly, the current version of firmware for your Plextor is 1.10, so you are two behind on these and need to go to Plextor's website and download the latest version. This is probably your main problem since both programs are having trouble with CD drive functions.
