Runtime Error

Just upgraded to M-studio 4.003. Windows updated. I get this error message:

Runtime Error!

Program:...s\Micro technology unlimited

"This application has requested the run time to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the support team for more information".

I have my folder set to "Hoster\Songs\" as I had it using the prior version.

You get the error message when? What are you trying to do when it errors out?

santojmezzaroba November 6th, 2007 12:07 AM

When I open M-S, My selected folder "Hoster\Songs\" starts to refresh. About 1200 songs will load and then I get the message. I did see a message about Parameter being incorrect, sorry I didn't write the exact message down. Actually the only thing I did was open Microstudio.
This did work with the old version

Try running it again and note the entire message. That information is what can tell us where to look.
Also, are you running Vista or XP?
When was the last time you did a Custom Update of your Windows?

i got that message before.
i needed to install net framework 2.0
from windows custom updates.

I use windows XP. Repaired net framework 2.0. already had it! Express updated Windows Yesterday. Tried re-installing M-S no difference.
Rebuilt songs database in Hoster. I double click the icon on My desk top for M-S and it opens. "Hoster\Songs\" starts loading the potential of 13309 songs. It will always stop at 1271 and I see either of two messages:
First message "The parameter is incorrect" under the Block Heading of Microstudio.
Second message Under the Block Heading of "Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library"

Runtime Error!

Program:...s\Micro Technology Unlimited\Micostudio.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unususl way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Check under Custom Updates. There have been a couple of patches for NetFrame as well as NetFrame 3.0 and these won't show up under Express Update.
Another possibility may be a corrupted Header in one of your files. Try the Hoster "Rebuild Database" and make sure it comes up with the right number of files.

It was a bad header file in hoster. OK now!
Thank you so much

Glad to see you fixed it, but how did you determine or find out that the header file was bad?
And how did you fix the file?

runtime error

When M-S was loading the failure was always at the same spot 1271. Some of the files would load before the failure. I went to the last file that did load successfully, it was CT0001-10 and found it on a list of all the Hoster kma. on My computer. I saw a file that looked very different immediately following CT0001-10 in My list, the file was listed as "CUSTOM-01-2" and Hoster said there was no such file. I deleted the file and bingo!

Thanx, in case any of us incur the same problem.
