Need some adivce using an external with microstudio

I am new to microstudio and I use an external hard drive where my karaoke songs are in mp3+g zipped format. When I use microstudio to pull up that drive it finds them just fine. The problem: It takes forever for the 3000 songs I have to load into microstudio. Is there a better, quicker way to access these in microstudio. I don't want to get to my show over an hour earlier just to load these.
I use a laptop with Vista Home Premium software and have the latest release of microstudio. Any help from you would be greately appreciated. Thanks!!

Sure. Try Hoster as it is designed for doing shows.:g
What version of Microstudio are you using? The latest versions put an index file in each folder you open to make opening it faster after the first time.
Seriously I think you would be much better off using Hoster or Hoster Lite which will allow you to use another monitor or TV to display the words for the singers instead of having to look at your computer monitor.
That would also get around the other problems you have with Microstudio.

reasons for not using hoster

I have downloaded hoster demo a couple of times and the music and lyrics are out of sync everytime. Plus, seems a little more complicated to use. The other reason is that you can not play singers cd's without having to import them first. I also do not need two monitors. It is a very small show. I like the fact that microstudio is so easy to use. I am using the latest version of microstudio 4003.
What do you mean by the index file in microstudio. Are you saying that once I allow all 3000 songs to access it will not take as long the next time I run microstudio? I appreciate all of your help. Thank You

Had you posted that, it probably could have been cleared up for you. This problem is caused by your system settings, not the software. Generally all that needs is for the audio hardware accelleration setting to be adjusted.

Hoster has built in adjustments to correct minor discrepancies in the sweep sync, and adjusting the audio hardware accellerator will usually correct the more serious conditions.

Also after the imported file from a customer's disc is sung, it automatically deletes, and does not remain in your computer, so that should be no concern to you.

Microstudio is not designed to be used for shows.

Yes. That is what I mean. Microstudio creates a file in the folder you have set to list. That file allows Microstudio to pull up the list faster the next time. If you add files to the folder you will have to "Refresh" the list again, but only for that reason.
