problem DKs
Hi' Sam
There are a lot of them. and its not the entire disc, only a couple of songs on each disc. the ones that the first screen goes off diagonal. song like san antonio rose dk 3043-11 they will not import, nothing but splatter. there was a lot of post on this a while back. MTU was going to take a look at it??. everyones to busy right now including me. Bob |
Reimporting my DK's
I am reimporting my original DK 1-99 and intend for them all to be KMA eventually. On one of the discs two songs did not import, 0 bytes, but I wouldn't have know it without inspecting my imports before file conversion. Probably my discs were dirty, because a second attempt produced better results, but now you have me thinking.:r
Oops I'm importing with Microstudio but I hear the abilities in this case are the same.:g |

OK, it's a little bit of work but here's a workaround, at least for those must-have songs at least until it can get fixed in Hoster.
Caveat: There was a similiar graphic problem several years ago that affected some computers and not others, with this in mind, please note that this fix may or may not work in all systems. So far I've only tested this with my Laptop/Vista. Also you can do this with your present KMA but I ran into some technical difficulties that need to be figured out or Songverter needs to address. The best source is either the original disk or mp3g. This requires Microstudio, Songverter and lyrics fixing program such as EditCDG (freeware) Assuming original Disk: 1 - With Microstudio rip the track to your HD as a BIN 2 - With Songverter convert the BIN file to wav+cdg (You can use other +cdg formats but the wav will retain 100% of it's audio quality). If you are using mp3g you can skip this step although zips will have to be unzipped. 3 - Using EditCDG open the cdg file and play it until just before the title screen starts sliding of the screen - click pause at this point. 4 - On the left side of the screen look for "scroll preset", you want to highlight the first one, use F8 if "scroll preset" is below the highlight, use F7 to back up if you've gone to far. Right click on that highlight and select "Place start range" 5 - Now use F8 to scroll to the last "scroll preset" (there may be several hundred of them). Right click that last scroll preset and select "Place end range". At this point all of those scroll presets should turn blue. 6 - Go to the top of the program and click tools, then select "range commands" and then select "delete range". The file should be fixed, replay it with EditCDG and make sure the scrolling is gone. 7 - Now click "file" and select "save" 8 - Use songverter to convert the wav+g back to bin. If using mp3g you can skip this step. 9 - Import into Hoster. I'm not a technical writer so I hope these directions make sense to someone other than me. Sam |

Thats DK 3094
when the first screen leaves it goes off diagonal. if it does that its one of the bad ones. |

I did have 1 DK disc #76 original series that imported strange. After the little graphic during the instrumental breaks, it wouldn't go back to the lyrics when it was supposed to. I reimported at different speeds until I found one that worked. I thought it was just a bad disc??

I can confirm Mindonstrike's listed fix works.
Thanx!! |
