freeDB doesn't work
 

I can't get the freedb to work. It worked before but now it won't. Does any one have any answers? it say's no internet connection but there is internet.

It could be any number of things. Your path to FreeDB has been broken somewhere. MTU has it set up to go through there servers then to freedb, so a link somewhere between could be broken (down).
FreeDB could have a problem with the server or MTU have a problem with their server for the redirect. When you say it worked before, how long ago and was it with you current set up (in other words did you upgrade computer, program or both?)

Question-
Is there any way to have Hoster use Freedb or some other database to determine and store the original "date" of the song's release? It would be nice to be able to tag songs and sort, etc by year or year ranges.

Not that I know of. There isn't a field in the songs database (Hoster's internal database file) or anything in the header for the kma files to list the year produced. As for FreeDB or any internet maintained database, MTU doesn't have any control of those.
