Hoster noob

Hello. I am a new Hoster user. And so far, I'm very frustrated. I've gotten the software installed but running into a couple of issues.

1. I cannot for the life of me get any CD's to import. I'm typing in the brand name and the disc ID and using the Add Tracks - Local Database option. But when I click the button, nothing happens. Doesn't pull up a track list, no error, nothing. I purchased 8 discs tonight and none of them will import.
2. I was able to get one wmv track to at least play. But I was unable to get the words screen to the second monitor. I can resize the window but not move it. The dual display is working, I've got the desktop extended.

What the heck am I doing wrong? Please help, I've got my first gig in two days!

Thanks!

1. Not all disks are in the Local database. In fact this has not been updated in a couple years and will not be. You can try using the online database or you will have to type in the artist and title information.

2. WMV tracks are not CDG (karaoke) and therefore do not have the words to display.

Sounds to me like either Hoster or your computer is not recognizing your cd drive.

From Hosters main screen, Click on tools and then cd/dvd defaults and make sure your drive is listed and that it shows that it's capable of reading CDG's

Thanks for the replies. The wmv files actually did have words attached and were displaying, just not on my second screen. And the CD-ROM was recognized, but I think it might be defective. I ended up swapping out for a DVD-RW drive I had and lo and behold, the imports are working now. And when I test played a track, the words came up on my second screen like magic!

Thanks for the assists!
