Graphics play back slower than Audio

In KHPro 2.009, if your lyrics sweeping are falling behind the more your song plays, try these tips:

1. Requires DirectX 8.1 or higher. How to check your version:

Left click the Start button
Left click Run in the menu
Type in dxdiag, then click OK to open the file.

NOTE: Don't exit this program until steps A and B are done.

This should open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. At the bottom of this first page you should see a line that shows:

DirectX Version: DirectX 8.1 or higher (Make sure the number after the DirectX is 8.1 or greater, or you will need to download DirectX 9.0 and install it on your system.

You can download DirectX 9.0 from: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dir...oads/drx90.asp

Check video memory on your Video card:
Click on the Display Tab
You should then see Aprox Total Memory: 32mb (Or some other number) This must be at least 8mb or higher.
2. Check to make sure that your Color is not set above 16-bits (high resolution). You can view and change this by doing the following:
Click the Start button > Settings > Control Panel > Display, and then click the Settings Tab

Make sure the Resolution control list box is set to 16-bit color, not 24-bit or 32-bit color.

3. If it still doesn't work, then you should try upgrading your drivers for your Video card from the Manufacturers' website.

Brian,

I have done all of the above and am still having trouble with the sweep being constantly one line too slow. Everything works great in KHP, with playback perfectly in synch. Once I create the CD+G file, though, the sweep is always slow, no matter what program I use to read the file. Tried burning it to CD and will see if it does the same on my player here, but am assuming that I will still have the slow sweep, as I believe another user tried this already.

Any more ideas??

Well, just triet in my karaoke player and no luck. Sweep is definitely a full line behind.

Help, please~

I fixed the slow sweep problem, which by the way is related to use of some SoundBlaster sound cards!

Go into your computer's CMOS (BIOS settings) and enable all audio settings except on-board sound. That's it!

If the change above doesn't work for you for some reason, an easy workaround is in KHPro in the Change Setting button, set the Sweep Offset to 3.20 before you write the CDG file to the hard drive.

PS - If changing the BIOS settings doesn't work for you for some reason, an easy workaround is to change the offset for the sweep to 3.20 just before you write the CDG file.

I am glad to read that others are experiencing what was driving me crazy, is that if using a direct CD Access on playing it loses the correct Sync. But if you play from the file it is ok.
I suggest you consider what processor you are using and forget the bios settings!!! I was using a AMD K6 450 processor and through all of this experimenting that I have done lately, I have discovered a fews things are necessary for good Karaoke results.

A good Video Card with over 32 MB of Memory, and
Stay away from AMD processors. Most of the video cards I have been researching advise this because of the difference in the chip designs. Use the Intel Chip processors above 500Mhz and above a Pent II.
I would love to know if one of you that had problems had the above hardware and still have the problems?

Fix for timing being off under Windows XP

This is a problem when using Windows XP that causes the timing to be off by about 2.5 to 3 seconds.

You can fix this by doing the following before you write the CDG file out of KHP.

1) Click on the Change Settings button
2) Click on the Lyrics tab
3) Change Advance Sweep from 0.20 to about 3.2 (You may need to play with the amount of time that you add to get it perfect)

Then click the Write CDG button to create the file.

This should fix the sweep.

Backtracking

Hi guys;
Thanks for such a great product.
But my problem is that whenever I play my music back in KHP. and play the lyrics with it. The song will play then go back a few notes and then start again. Impossible to get the words to go along with the music.
I tried changing the sweep. But still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Song Repeating

Hi again.
Still haven't made any headways.
What I should of said is that when I use the MicroStudio to record the songs froma cd, that is when the playback repeats on the KHP. This is what Is hard to follow the word tempo by.
I have the ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 graphics card. It is 3 months old and already updated. But the songs play back great. Even the Vogone plays and records great. I only notice it when I run the KHP.. Have done everything so far that I saw on here. But to no prevail.
Thanksl for all your help so far.

Forgot.

I also have Direct X 8.1
Plus I am running a 1.5ghz system with 512 ram and 75 gig hd.
With the plex writer that MTU suggested was good. Because my other dvd/cd burners. were not compatible with burning cdg's. Is there anything else that I can do. LOve this program. Would like to have it work as good as everything else has so far.
Thansk.

I just wanted to let you know that I fixed the problem. I went through the forum and saw that someone else had the same skipping problem. I did as they did. Moved the slide bar to standard. Sounds terrific now. I also have the Audigy..
One again. Thanks..
Now wll try the graphics and all.

Have you tested out DirectX 8.1b that is available from MicroSoft, using Windows 2000?

I ask because they state that this version cannot be uninstalled w/o re-installing the operating system.

MTUSUPPORT September 24th, 2002 05:40 PM

This version should work fine. This is because new versions of DirectX include all the old features but add in newer features. All versions of DirectX can't be uninstalled without reloading the OS, so you should be fine.
