Hoster Lite does not allow adding a track from customer discs on the fly like the full version. As described in their description from the Hoster Lite page.

Video Hoster® Features Missing in Video Hoster® Lite
  • Cannot prepare and print a Song Book
  • Cannot play songs directly from CDG Karaoke discs others bring
  • Installs on one computer (Video Hoster installs on 2 for backup)

upgrade

ok but this is the upgrade that is recommended, when i click on cdg.

Did you purchase the upgrade from lite to full hoster? the one costing over $100? If you did then it should work for you? If you purchased the $39.99 upgrade you only upgraded the lite version.

upgrade problem

i have the 3.313 and up graded to 3.316. the reason being is that, like i said when i click on the cdg when i'm running hoster, this is the upgrade that is recommened to run this feature. it takes me to hoster 3.316 when it ask do you want to add this feature.by the way it was the 39.99 upgrade.

all you got was the new upgrade of hoster lite.
Maybe MTU needs a better way of directing those upgrades to the right upgrade. Just a thought.

Having the latest version isn't all that bad as it keeps you current on future upgrades. I just upgraded myself but it was from the first version of Lite. I see no reason to get the full version as I don't like the idea of possible wearing out of the drive I am suppose to use to import my songs with by puttting outside discs in it. It's why I still carry an outside CDG player. As for songlists I got a songlist program that can read the headers from my KMAs.

You will need to submit a Support Ticket to get MTU to contact you about a refund. As the rest have said none of the Lite versions have the capability to import from a singer's disc. And that capability has been only in the full version for a long time, not just something new added. The changes made from 3.313 up to 3.316 are mostly behind the scenes. Many addition drives now work with Hoster, so you are not locked to using just Plextor drives. Greatly improved error correction when importing. Added Key column in playlist so you know what keychange has been set or to set it if you forgot to when adding to playlist. That's just a few. For the rest read the page on MTU's website about Hoster upgrade changes.
