several issues

at this point, i'm not sure i made a good choice of computer hosting software. :f

first, i got the entire bundle of mtu software, but this is directed only at hoster.

1 - bought the mtu certified disc drive (plextor 760) to import discs. some discs are almost unreadable via hoster, but they work perfectly in my jvc karaoke player.

2 - most tracks imported contain about 3-4 second of the next track once the selected track is finished. (by this i mean the selected track plays, the singer sings, the song ends and the whatever the next track on that disc was when it was imported starts to play for about 3 seconds making the audience think that is the next song to be sung. i do not mean that the next singer's song starts as with auto-play.)

3 - the graphics for some of the songs imported are off by a full measure when played through hoster, but when played through the jvc player they are fine...this includes some sound choice discs!)

please tell me there are easy fixes for these issues and that i did not throw away $600 on mtu and the drive.

first off, you cant compare hoster to a stand alone cdg player.

second off why dont you start by telling us what you are running for a computer and if you have it up to date with windows updates.

what version of hoster are you running ???

lets start there.

Computer CD drives/ programs are more picky about condition of CDs than karaoke players, but once you get a good copy onto the hard drive, you no longer have to worry about deterioration like you would have with a CD and player. You sometimes need to play with the compression ratio and drive speed settings to get the cleanest copy. I have one CD that we had replaced because it consistently gave us bad imports. In testing the recent versions of HOster I found that even that bad CD imported much cleaner than it used to. Hoster is getting better.

This is a known bug and has been found and fixed. MTU should be releasing the update soon. (According to News page 30 November but could be a a couple days either way, depending on any other problems found.

Look under Tools/ playback Offset you can advance or retard the audio to sync the audio and graphics up. Could be a delay in your audio or video settings.

by chance did you update the drivers on your video card ?

never use microsoft updates to do this. go straigt to the manufacturer to get updates when it comes to hardware.

thanks for the help guys, i'll look at all of this. it's frustrating, though. it seems as though i will have to reimport the library to get things totally correct, which takes about 6 days of doing nothing but sitting in front of the computer for 10-12 hours. i don't have that kind of time. i will look at the things you've mentioned to see if i can tweak it a bit.

make sure once your have everything straight, you backup all your kma's to another hard drive.

this is very important so you wont have to re-import all over again if your hard drive crashes.
