3.00 is working with plextor 716A?

I just read your last post. Did you say you had to replace an old Plextor 716A with a new 716A or did you replace some other drive with a plextor? I am using a plextor 716A with the latest updates and I can't seem to do anything with 3.00.

Would that include all of the Windows updates and the latest firmware update from Plextor?

Yes, I have updated all windows updates + the plextor firmware and my system just can not write to these CD's. Today I though maybe I had a bad batch of CDR's so I got two more spindels (different manufactures + supposedly better quality) and I still can not write. So I have tried four difference CDR media and none work.

However, when I un-install and re-install the old version (2.613 as I recall). I can write to the disc.

This is a flaky problem. I have had one instance (out of about 40 tries) in which data was written, but there was no video, just music and blue screen. Otherwise, sometimes write completes but the disc is empty and other times it just stop half way through with a disc write error.

I would appreciate any suggestion!

Shawn

PS: I have been reading all these forums and have tried the following
1) uninstall 2.613 completely before install
2) Update all windows drivers
3) update plextor to latest driver
4) difference CDR media
5) changes write speed
6) Enable hardware error correction

OS: Windows XP
Plextor 716A

DWILLY,

I don't have an answer to your problem, but I do know that by tacking your problem onto another person's thread especially one titled "no graphics, sound..solved" is severely hampering your chances of being seen.

Suggest you go to the SUPPORT CENTER and submit a ticket.

I am using a 716a with the latest firmware and Windows updates. Also latest MS and I don't have any problems writing disc's.
