Are we talking the Svideo cable or the Fem Svideo X Fem RCA adaptor?

If we're talking cable I bought mine at Mall-Wart. It's just a basic standard S-video cable

If adaptor, those are a little harder to find outside the internet, RS has them but they are way overpriced ( I paid $20 there for one about 3 years ago)

I have the same deal. Two Dells in fact. I searched around online but can't remember where though and found a 7pin to rca and a 7-pin to rca - 4pin - y-b-r connector all on the other end. They all work great.

are you trying to have a dual display? if so go to : control panel, click on display, and click on setting ,window should come with 1 and 2 monitors click on 2 and check on ext. my monitor, click apply and ok, then re-start your pc/laptop..and you should now have a dual display capabilities

I have seen a 7-pin to three rca female on the otehr end. One is for video and two are for audio. Does this mean that an audio signal is sent out of the video card somehow?
That would be nice if we can avoid our sound card 1/8" output. I often find 1/8" male connectors to loosely fit the hole and mess up the audio. last w/e I went through three 1/8" audio out cords, sheesh?

No. There is no audio coming from your video card, the audio RCA's would go unused. Unfortunately most reasonbly priced soundcard use 1/8" TRS. Most of the cards with 1/4" or RCA's I've seen are pricey, although my usb external card uses RCA's inputs and outputs and was only about $50 US.

Have you ever used this soundcard hooked to headphones, and if so, what type of adapters need be used to get from 2-rca's ro a headphone male?
