my singers want cd's of themself

Well, my hoster is running great> Added with my equipment you sound like you are in a band. Now some singers are asking if I can record them singing.
I think it is a great idea and it is something else I would like to add to my shows. Does Hoster have a program for this, If not where would I look into this for more information?
thank you very much

IT'S JUST NOT KARAOKE IT'S GLORI-OKE

Since this would be an infringement of the manufacturers copyrights, and therefore illegal, I would venture to guess that Hoster/MTU would never support this.

There are programs available to do this such as Soundforge.
Now what kinds of issues would arise from running Hoster and a recording program from the same computer, at the same time, I don't know.

well, I guess that is someting i did not realize. It makes me wonder since
my supplier of karoake cd's is now selling a system so you can do just that.
mmmmm gets me thinking about all these copywright laws.

My singers want cd,s of themselves

The Tascam US-122 with the Hoster program will do what you want to do.

BUT keep in mind the copywright issues. Also most singers that sound good at your live show will not be pleased with how they really sound and may not come back to sing again.

I will quote Simon on the American idol show when the audience disagreed with his negative comment about a singer. "You are listening to the singer live with the effects of the room. Listen again at home when it's on TV." I couldent agree with him more he was 100% right.

The next Hoster release will support recording your singers with the music, and allow writing an Audio CDDA disc with the file. Hoster will allow mixing it also, as it is recorded.

As to legal issues, here is our understanding:

1. If the singer brings THEIR OWN disc, you can do this and it is acceptable.

2. If YOU provide the music, you should sell them a copy of the Karaoke disc you legally purchased with the music they are singing. Then you can record them and give them the audio CDDA disc.

3. If you SELL them the Audio CDDA disc, you probably are illegal as you are profiting from the sale of the music, which is not yours.

No this release is only to fix some bugs. Check the News Page for specifics.

I should have been a bit more defining.

We are working on Hoster 3.312 to fix several bugs, and get Plextor and other drives (mostly older ones) working right that had hardware error correction. This will be a free upgrade as it is mostly bug repairs. We "hope" to have this released during October.

We are also working on Hoster 4.000, which will include the recording I mentioned above, and other new features. It will take a number of months to create and test this new version. There are some very deep decisions we must make as to how to change our KMA header. It just doesn't have enough space to add requested features.

We expect the new Hoster 4.0 to play older KMA songs, and update them as it finds them, but new KMA songs could not play on Hoster 3.312 or prior. It would take time for you to upgrade your backup systems and drives, but we don't see any other way. That is why we will make it 4.0. It will be a break from the past.

I can't begin to say when we could have a "safe" version to release. Please don't post "when... when... when". Watch the News Page for 4.0 release. You want to buy the upgrade as soon as we offer the special to existing users.

This will also have the new Microstudio 3.0 Write Disc screen that can take KMA files and write them to a CDG disc.
