Plextor Hang-up Update
 

I've tried everthing I can think of. Both of these Plextor drives (PX-W8432T and PlexWriter 24/10/40A) hand up in two different Hp computers. I finally reverted to the original Writer that came in the newer one. At the time I bought this computer, the drive wouldn't work because it was not on the Hoster drive list. Now that the list has been expanded it does work for Hoster. It is a Mitsumi CR-4849TE. However it will not work in the version of Microstudio that I have. Three questions.

1. If I upgrade Microstudio, will it recognize the Mitsumi CR-4849TE? That would take care of one computer.

2. I hate to can two perfectly good drives and buy new ones. Is that my only option?

3. If I have to buy new drives? Would MTU offer any kind of discount under these circumstances?

1. Not yet. The next version of Microstudio will support the same drives as Hoster. It is currently in Beta testing so wait for it.

2. I wouldn't throw them out as MTU may find the cause of the slow read speed yet. For some reason with the change in method of drive access some people have experienced this.

3. This is one MTU would have to answer.
