If Windows encounters a fatal error it will shutdown or restart. It could be a hardware problem too as in a Battery problem.

We had the same proplem about a year ago. Here is a laptop cooling unit that works real well. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...9782&CatId=215

Heat could definately be a factor, especially in laptops because everything is crammed into very tight quarters. I would take Larry's advice first and get the cooling unit, but I would also contact Toshiba and see about a replacement internal fan. If you are not comfortable with opening the laptop take it to a local authorized service for Toshiba. They should be able to order part and replace. Hope you bought the extended warranty:e

Thanx Fellas but it seem to have sorted it self out i was advised to install more RAM so it now has 768 instead of 512 and well it hasn't played up yet
so i just cross my fingers and toes for my next gig
